Animal sculpture in fabricated metal is built rather than carved, so the modelling problem is how to describe a living form in flat sheet. The answers give the genre its distinct styles: faceted and geometric, layered and sliced, perforated shells, or smooth flowing surfaces rolled to shape.

Getting the anatomy right
An animal is instantly recognisable and instantly wrong if the proportions slip, so we model in 3D first and send renders from several angles for approval. Stance matters as much as silhouette — the difference between a horse standing and a horse about to move is a few degrees at the shoulder and hock.

Structure at scale
Animal forms concentrate load in thin places: legs, necks, tails, antlers.
