Custom Sculpture for Architecture, Public Art & Landscape

A light sculpture has two appearances — the daytime object and the illuminated night form — and they are rarely the same design problem. Work that looks solid and sculptural by day can read as a flat glow after dark unless the lighting is designed with the form rather than added to it.

How the light is built in
We integrate LED into the structure: concealed within perforations and cut patterns so the sculpture projects its own shadow pattern, edge-lit through acrylic or polycarbonate inserts, or grazed across a textured surface from recessed ground fittings. Drivers and control gear are housed in an accessible, weatherproof compartment in the base, not sealed inside the sculpture where they cannot be serviced.

Electrical and site requirements
We specify IP-rated fittings appropriate to the position, supply the power requirement, cable routes and duct positions with the foundation drawings, and can provide DMX or app-controlled colour-changing where a venue wants programmable scenes. Final connection is by your local qualified electrician to local regulations.

Maintenance
LED modules and drivers are consumables with a finite life. We design them to be replaceable without dismantling the sculpture, and supply part references so they can be sourced years later.
